Some suppliers take shortcuts-they apply a topical chemical coating and call it "flame retardant." That works for about five washes, then it starts fading fast. Ours is different. We test this obsessively. After 50 industrial laundry cycles, the fabric still self-extinguishes within 2 seconds in vertical flame tests. No afterglow. No reignition. Just clean, reliable shutdown of the flame. That's the kind of consistency that saves lives on a bad day.
Durability
This is by no means a delicate cotton flame retardant fabric. We employ a high-thread-count, tight-twill weave that imparts exceptional resistance to tearing, abrasion, and snagging. Even under rigorous conditions-such as crawling beneath machinery, friction from tools against the pant legs, or contact with sharp steel edges-these protective garments remain intact and undamaged.
Its tear strength is significantly higher than that of standard flame-resistant fabrics of comparable weight. You need not worry about stress-induced tears developing at the elbows or knees after just a few weeks of wear. Furthermore, the fabric exhibits minimal seam slippage.
