Product Introduction
Modacrylic is a synthetic fiber engineered with inherent flame resistance. Unlike treated fabrics that rely on chemical coatings, its fire-retardant properties are built directly into the polymer structure, so they won't wash out or degrade over time.
When exposed to flames, the fiber chars and forms a protective barrier rather than melting or dripping. It also self-extinguishes once the heat source is removed. This makes it a reliable choice for protective apparel, workwear, and military or industrial uniforms.
The fiber is soft to the touch, lightweight, and highly resistant to chemicals and UV exposure. It blends easily with other fibers-most commonly with cotton or aramid-to improve comfort and durability without compromising safety.

Modacrylic Flame Resistant – Key Characteristics
● Inherent flame resistance. Built into the fiber itself, not a surface coating that washes off.
● Doesn't melt or drip when exposed to fire. Instead, it chars and forms a stable protective barrier.
● Self-extinguishes the moment the flame source is removed.
● Combines safety with comfort. Lightweight, soft to the touch, and breathable.
● Holds up to harsh conditions. Resistant to chemicals, UV light, and prolonged heat exposure.
● Retains its protective properties after repeated industrial laundering. No loss in performance over time.
● Blends easily with other fibers. Cotton, aramid, and viscose are common partners for added strength or softness.
● Reliable in high-risk settings. Worn in welding, electrical work, firefighting, and heavy manufacturing.
● Meets internationally recognized safety standards. NFPA 2112, EN 11612, and ASTM D6413 compliant.
