Cotton flame-retardant fabrics, cotton lightweight flame-retardant fabrics have always been a production problem in terms of strength control. We have done a lot of research and experiments on how to break through the bottleneck of strength, reduce production costs, and improve product quality in the current economic downturn. And recently, it has successfully produced a batch of pure cotton, high-strength, light and flame-retardant fabrics exported to the United States. Fabric specification 60X60-20S/1X20S/1, weight 150g/㎡.

Cotton flame-retardant fabrics. Generally speaking, the thinner the fabric, the harder it is to reach the standard for strength after flame-retardant finishing. According to the GB/T411-2008 test method for first-class cotton printing and dyeing fabrics (using GB/T3923.1-1997.5.CM strip method, MICRO-350 CRE tester). Fabric 150-200g/㎡, warp strength 400N, weft 220N; fabric 100-150g/㎡, warp strength 300N, weft 180N. Since the customer requires a weight specification of 150g/㎡, which is at the critical point of strong crossover, we have adjusted the following process formula to make the finished fabric meet the requirements.

1. Use strong protection and environmentally friendly flame retardants. Although the flame retardants currently used in the market are relatively low in price, they have a large loss of strength and contain toxic ingredients such as formaldehyde. Therefore, we do not advocate the use. We generally use more cost-effective and environmentally friendly strong protective flame retardants. The strength loss of ordinary flame retardants is about 50%, while the loss of environmentally friendly strong protective flame retardants is only between 10-15%, and does not contain harmful substances such as formaldehyde.
2. Made of long-staple cotton raw material and ring spinning process. According to actual comparisons, long-staple cotton ring-spun yarn is 30% stronger than yarn spun from ordinary craft materials. At the same time, due to the reduction of breakages in the production process, production efficiency is generally improved and losses are reduced.

Which Fabrics Are Inherently Flame Retardant?

For cotton flame-retardant fabrics, achieving high strength and environmental protection is not the ultimate goal. It is the general trend to seize the market's increasing requirements for cost performance and comprehensively consider the development of new products. A little change is a big progress. There is no end to technological innovation and it requires unremitting efforts.
